Part of the North East Museums, Tyne & Wear Archives is home to thousands of documents, housed on 20km of shelving, relating to the five local districts of Newcastle, Sunderland, Gateshead, North Tyneside and South Tyneside. The collections range from the 12th to the 21st centuries and document the history of the people and communities of Tyne & Wear. The records include those of individuals, families, organisations, buildings, local authorities, schools, courts, hospitals and religious communities, as well as business papers. For Yerusha, the Archives surveyed its Jewish collections, including community, synagogue and organisational documents.
