For the last 30 years, the Jewish Museum Hohenems has been a centre for the documentation of Jewish life in Western Austria. The permanent exhibition in the Heimann-Rosenthal Villa, built in 1864, documents the history of the Jewish community in Hohenems which existed for over three centuries until its destruction by the Nazi regime. For Yerusha, researchers of the Museum have surveyed the archival heritage of Western Austrian Jews living in Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
