University of Szeged

Founded in 1581, the University of Szeged is one of Hungary’s leading higher education institutions. For Yerusha, the University has surveyed relevant Jewish-related archival collections in eight counties and boroughs of historical Eastern Hungary created between the 17th and 19th centuries. The bulk of the material comprises judicial documents and records of the meetings of the counties’ nobility.
